A nutritionally complete, powdered product, which can be used to administer the classical (4:1) Ketogenic diet for children over 1 year of age.

  • Intractable epilepsy.
Directions for Preparation and Use
  • Intake to be determined by a medical professional and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.
    • For oral or tube feeding:
    1. Measure the required amount of warm water into a container that seals with a screw top lid. To completely dissolve the powder, the water must be at a temperature of 45-50 °C (113-122°F).
    2. Add the prescribed amount of KetoCal to the water.
    3. Cover and shake until the powder has dissolved.
    4. Once prepared, the formula should be stored in a refrigerator and kept no longer than 24 hours. KetoCal can be kept at room temperature for a maximum of 4 hours.
    5. Shake or stir immediately before serving. For oral feeding, KetoCal is best served chilled.

    To obtain the recommended dilution of 4 mL of water to 1 g of powder, mix the following amounts of water and powder:

Precaution
  • Use only under strict medical supervision. Not for parenteral use. Not suitable for children under one year of age.
Storage
  • Store unopened can at room temperature. Once opened, reseal can and store in a cool, dry place (not in a refrigerator) and use within one month.
