mixture of pure L-amino acids free from phenylalanine,
enriched with vitamins, minerals and trace elements. For
the dietary management of phenylketonuria and hyperphenylalaninemia
in older children adults, including pregnant women and

Directions for Preparation and Use:
The amount of PKU 3 needed
to supplement total daily protein requirements (other than
phenylalanine) depends on age, body weight, and individual
phenylalanine tolerance. The dose of PKU 3 must
be determined by a physician or dietitian and adjusted periodically.
Diets with PKU 3 must contain adequate amounts of energy,
essential fatty acids and phenylalanine to meet daily requirements.
The daily amount required should be divided into 3 to 5 single
portions and can be taken mixed with calculated amounts of other
food (e.g. beverages, fruit mousse, solid foods). For accuracy, PKU
3 should be weighed on a gram scale.
